Dr Surender Mohan Azad, fondly called as S M Azad, has a long credit of academic excellence. He has done MA, MPhil and Doctorate Research in History from Jawahar Lal Nehru University, Delhi. He also had a small stint as an Associate Professor with Jamia Milia, Delhi. Apart from being a history faculty for UPSC, sir has written numerous books on history. He is actually a functional Historian who interprets History unbiased and in its wholesome context without any prejudices.

Sir is revered for being an history academic erudite. Senior faculties from all across the spectrum of UPSC, confide with him for inputs on historical issues and interpretational findings. His penchant for writing has made him Chief Editor of numerous publications, benefitting thousands of students, be it school/college or students preparing for any competitive examinations.
