FOUNDATION BATCH: OVERVIEW
- Overview of the Course: The PCM Foundation course is a long-term course intended to give a strong foundation to the students appearing in UPSC examination. The course is designed to impart in depth understanding of concepts and their linking with the current affairs. The best faculties from Pan India presence shall come to teach the students. The institute is known for its best faculties who come from Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore and Jammu.
Over a period of 9 months the students shall be imparted knowledge of issues ranging from History, Economy, Geography, Polity, Internal Security, International Relations, Ethics and other allied subjects of UPSC.
The institute strives from the very beginning to train students in connecting various subjects vertically/holistically and develop the skill of thinking that improves their writing capability in Mains.
Regular interaction sessions with Major SPS Oberoi for personality development are organized to improve the communication skills of the students.
2 Duration of the Course: The duration of the course is for 9 months and this may vary by 15-20 days. This 9 months is exclusively for the GS and CSAT along with Essay and Ethics classes.
3. Schedule of Classes: Classes would be scheduled Monday to Friday either in the Morning or in the Evening depending on the batch. The duration of class per day may vary from 3-6 hrs. of classes every day. The students shall be given day to day tasks to ensure continuity in learning at home as well.
4. Weekend Tests: Every Saturday the students will be put to tests. Tests would be conducted on Prelims and Mains. These Tests are free of cost for the foundation students. The Students shall be provided detailed answers at the end of these tests. These tests are an important source to evaluate the performance of the students in the classroom learning.
5. Mentorship Program: Saturdays are dedicated days for Mentorship of the Students. The Students can log in their requests for mentorship support during the week to ensure availability of the Mentor.
This facility will also be free of cost. Mentorship platform provides an excellent opportunity to interact with the teaching faculties and the mentors. A detailed feedback assessment sheet shall be maintained wherein tutor/mentor will record the advice rendered. This feedback sheet shall be useful at the time of overall assessment of the progress made by the student.
6. Content Developers. We shall be failing in our duties, if we do not make a mention of the content development team. One of the most tedious job in any competitive industry is content development keeping in view the dynamic pattern of syllabus and exam pattern. The dedicated team of content developers at Ekam work very hard to provide the students with the best of study material support. The weekly tests are designed and curated by the content developers under the guidance of Asher Vidhey sir, who expertise in designing the question papers strictly as per the UPSC module. These tests and the study material contribute immensely to developing confidence in their preparation by the students.

A) Classes: Current Issues classes (Mains Perspective) would be conducted on Saturdays covering all the important events that have occurred during the week by Major SPS Oberoi.
B) Material Support: Students get free daily (hard copy), weekly (hard copy), and monthly (soft copy) current affairs handouts from the Institute free of cost.
9. Material Support: The Study material is researched/developed by the Institute and is synced with the UPSC pattern of the syllabus. The students need
not spend any money on the study materials once they read these thoroughly researched books offered by the institute free of cost with foundation course.
10. Website/Portal Support:
A) Website: The institute has created its website and portal support to assist the student in their preparation while at home. The Website would be a dynamic platform that regularly updates information on all important articles from magazines, govt. reports etc on a regular basis. The access to the contents of the Website would be free of cost for all the students.
B) Portal Access: The portal access would be restricted only to the Online Students on payment basis.
11 Optional Subjects:
A) Optional Offered: The students can choose from a list of Optional Subjects being offered by the Institute viz., History, Anthropology, Public Administration, Sociology, PSIR, Telugu Literature etc.
B) Duration: The Optional Course would be of a duration ranging from 3.5 to 4.5 months with an average of (260-290 hours) of learning.
C) Faculty: The Institute shall hire the best faculty available in the market so that the students can derive maximum benefit out of the same.
D) Mode: The optional course can be subscribed in offline and online mode as per the choice of the student.
E) Material Support: The institute shall provide maximum possible support in terms of material support. However, for better performance purchasing of prescribed textbooks may be done by the students as per their wish.
12 Library Facility: The institute shall provide library facility to the students of various prescribed textbooks as per the UPSC suggestive list. The books can be drawn for reading purpose and returned as per the time slot allotted by the institute. Marking of any kind on the books would not be permitted.
13 Counselling/Performance Evaluation Sessions: The institute shall organize regular counselling sessions of the student by the Chief Mentor Major SPS Oberoi at regular intervals to check the progress of the students.
- Access to Study Halls: The Institute runs some study halls in Ashok Nagar and Himayatnagar under the banner Guru Study Space. The students at our institute will get admissions in these study halls at discounted rates.

Test Series: Apart from the Foundation Course, the Institute also runs various test series programs for prelims and mains both. The students of PCM batches would get admission to these test series at discounted rates. The Test Series run by the institute are very famous amongst the students for their quality.
- Fee: The Fee for the PCM Foundation Batch would be briefed by the counsellor at the time of admission. The Fee includes 18% GST. Fee Concessions would be provided at the discretion of the Management.
