Major SPS Oberoi was born and brought up in Hyderabad. He has pursued his graduation in Commerce from Badruka College of Commerce and Arts, Hyderabad a very prestigious institution in the Academic arena.

After his graduation he pursued LLB (Legal Law Bachelor) and LLM (Legal Law Masters) from Pune University and stood first in the order of merit with three Gold Medals with distinction in Academics.

Sir was an NCC Cadet from 1998 to 2001 and was the Junior Under Officer for the united Andhra Pradesh State and participated in the State Independence Day Parade in 2001.

In the year 2004 sir joined the Indian Army and served the country for a period of 11 years till 2015. He left the Armed Forces as a Major in 2015. During his service in the Army, he held many prestigious positions and was a qualified instructor grading in small arms and military tactics. He was also involved in fighting Terrorism in J&K and insurgency in the North East under Operation Rhino-II. During his deployment with a UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) Battalion, he gained expertise in recce and surveillance operations across the enemy lines.

His passion for studies and knowledge drew him closer to UPSC as a trainer and have been training students aspiring to become IAS & IPS since last 6 years. He teaches subjects like International Relations, Internal Security, Ethics and alike subjects of UPSC. He is also an empaneled member of the Interview Board for Mock UPSC interviews and other competitive examinations in the Defence Services that include Intelligence Bureau, R&AW and NDA/CDS.

His love for topics from International Relations especially concerning India and its neighborhood has earned him lot of laurels as panelist in various discussion groups. An expert on World Affairs especially concerning Russia, United States of America, China and Middle East.”
